Corporate Social Responsibility
As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations in 1999, we established a "21st Century Vision" for the Company with our corporate philosophy as its basis. As part of this vision, we introduced the concept of "advanced water and environmental management company" and established six management guidelines that would help us realize what we envisioned as the ideal state of the Company in 2010.
One management guideline established was the policy of focusing on being transparent and fair to our stakeholders from the standpoint of corporate social responsibility. This enables us to continue following social ethics, abide by governing laws, and build a fair and transparent relationship with all stakeholders (shareholders, customers, employees, regional community, vendors) in every area of our business activities.
Our basic stakeholder philosophies are as follows:
Management that respects shareholders
- Disclose sufficient and necessary information in a timely manner to shareholders and investors
- Gain the support of shareholders through implementing a management style that focuses on improving capital efficiency
Build a wholesome relationship with customers and business partners
- Execute conduct transactions that are fair, transparent and follow the philosophy of open competition
- Have mutual respect for one another's autonomy, income and assets and build a trusting relationship.
Build a new relationship with employees
- Provide various employment systems that allow employees to choose the way they work based on where they are in their life-stage and undertake work in an enthusiastic manner. In addition, be flexible in responding social system reforms.
Implement activities as a good corporate citizen.
- Promote conservation and protection efforts of the global environment that anticipate environmental controls.
- Actively return the knowledge and know-how developed from the Company's operations back to society.
